Fearing God... or else!

(1)
TGIGF! Sipping on beer #2 at 1421. Good Friday is, of course, an important religious holiday in Judeo-Christian Mythology, and serves to commemerate the day Jesus died for our sins, thus saving our collective butt from the wrath of His Father up there in Heaven. (Beer #3 at 1440. Sip.) (If the idea sounds a bit bizarre, remember, it's 2000 years old. What can you expect from people who still didn't know back then that 'water' was the same as 'H2O'? Not much.)
After dying, Jesus descended into Hell, possibly spending some quality time with those souls already burning there. Whatever. Then, on the third day, Jesus surfaced, got back inside his body, did a bit of 'advertizing' among The Faithful, and ascended into Heaven taking his much improved body with Him. We celebrate that event on Sunday. Hopefully I can sort of emulate Jesus' weekend journey. Sort of... not quite... I hope! (Saturday's hangover will be bad enough without the fire.)
Speaking of Saturday, Jews celebrate the Christian 'Holy Saturday' this year with their Passover celebration. This bizarre celebration is even older than the Christian Holy Week celebrations, and is consistent with the Christian idea that the Jewish god was one violent, creepy bastard.
